Frequently asked questions about hypnotherapy:

You've got questions. We've got answers.

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a type of therapy where I help you relax deeply and enter a state of focused attention called hypnosis. In this state, your mind becomes more open to positive suggestions and can explore feelings, memories, and sensations in a safe and guided way.

How Does Hypnotherapy Work?

During hypnotherapy, I will gently guide you into a relaxed state where your mind is more open to positive suggestions. It’s like daydreaming or being deeply absorbed in a book or movie. In this state, you’re still in control and can’t be forced to do anything against your will.

What Can Hypnotherapy Help With?

Hypnotherapy can help with many things, like reducing stress and anxiety, overcoming fears and phobias, managing pain, improving sleep, boosting confidence, and changing habits like smoking or overeating. It’s often used alongside other therapies to support overall well-being.

Is Hypnotherapy Safe?

Yes, hypnotherapy is safe. You’re always in control, and I am here to guide and support you throughout the session.

Are online hypnotherapy sessions as effective as in-person sessions?

Yes, online hypnotherapy sessions can be just as effective as in-office sessions. Thanks to modern communication technologies, deep states of relaxation and focus can be achieved regardless of physical distance between us. My clients prefer online sessions because they feel safe in their own homes, and it’s more convenient logistically since they don’t have to travel—just need an internet connection to connect. This also helps with relaxation and comfort.

What does a typical online hypnotherapy session look like?

We start with a brief initial discussion to establish your therapeutic goals and discuss the session process. Then, with your consent, we move into the hypnotic induction, which may include relaxation suggestions and visualizations. It’s like a guided deep meditation. Sometimes, I may ask you a few questions, but you may choose not to answer. You always retain control over what you say. Your awareness and conscious mind never leave you.

Do I need to worry about losing control during an online hypnotherapy session?

There’s no need for concern. During hypnotherapy sessions, you maintain full awareness and control over yourself. Hypnosis is a deep state of focus, but at any moment, you can end the session if you feel the need. Hypnotherapy is not a stage hypnosis. I am not performing hypnosis for entertainment, but for therapeutic purposes only.

What can I do to prepare for an online hypnotherapy session?

Find a quiet and private place where you can comfortably sit or lie down. Before the session, avoid caffeine and prepare a list of goals or issues you’d like to discuss with me. It’s also good to have headphones and a phone stand so we can see each other. Have a glass of water and a journal or notepad with a pen handy.

How long does a hypnotherapy or EFT session last?

The duration of therapy can vary depending on individual needs and client goals. Some issues may be resolved in a few sessions, while others require longer-term commitment. Typically, hypnotherapy sessions last 60-90 minutes, and EFT therapy lasts around 60 minutes.

Frequently asked questions about EFT therapy & general information:

What is EFT therapy and how does it work?

EFT therapy, also known as Emotional Freedom Techniques, is a therapeutic method based on stimulating meridian points (similar to acupuncture) through gentle tapping with fingers. It works by releasing energetic blockages in the body that may contribute to emotional and physical issues.

What does a typical EFT therapy session look like?

We start by identifying a specific issue or therapeutic goal. Then, I guide you through a series of tapping on specific meridian points, while focusing on the issue you want to resolve. The session concludes with an assessment of progress and scheduling the next session.

Is EFT therapy safe?

Yes, EFT therapy is considered safe for most people. It’s a non-invasive technique and does not typically have side effects.

During EFT sessions, suppressed emotions may be released, which can sometimes be intense. This can lead to temporary increases in feelings of sadness, anxiety, or even agitation. Some individuals may experience physical reactions such as changes in muscle tension, headaches, fluctuations in skin conductivity, or feelings of fatigue. These symptoms are typically short-lived.

During EFT, some individuals may also experience physical sensations such as tingling, yawning, feelings of warmth or coldness around the meridian points being worked on.

However, it’s important to note that these effects are usually temporary and considered a natural part of the therapeutic process.

What is the cost of a therapy session?

The cost of one hypnotherapy session is £100, and an EFT therapy session is priced at £75. Discounted price packages are available and can be viewed at the top of the website, in the pricing/offer section.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions needed depends on your individual needs and therapeutic goals. I offer session packages of 4, 6, 8, and 12. Normally, my clients need from 4 – 12 sessions as a duration for one problem to be resolved. You can then book a maintenance session from time to time or book a new package for a different problem. During our initial consultation, we’ll discuss your goals and therapy progress to adjust the session count accordingly. If you have additional questions or want to discuss session package details, please let me know, and I’ll be happy to assist!

Do you offer therapeutic sessions, hypnotherapy, and EFT therapy via phone, Whatsapp/FaceTime, and in person?

I offer an initial consultation over the phone, and all therapeutic sessions are currently conducted virtually or in-person in Bedford Town. I cater to the needs of clients who, for various reasons, cannot attend in person or are based abroad, providing a safe space for online therapy. The results of this approach have been very positively received. Experience has shown that it can be easily accessible through online sessions, with exceptional success rates. The benefits of time and travel cost savings make this form of therapy increasingly popular. Sometimes it works better than a physical session when stress is removed from finding a new environment.

However, I also offer an option for a face-to-face session in Bedford Town, currently seeing clients at the Bedford Consulting Rooms, at 4 Goldington Rd.

What happens if I need to cancel a session?

In case you need to cancel a session, please notify me at least 24 hours before the scheduled session. You can do this via email, SMS, or by phone. Failure to provide such notification will result in the full session fee being charged. More about cancellations can be found in my contract, which I will share with you before our first session.
